Welcome to the NHS/NJHS web page!  The NHS/NJHS is the leader among organizations and societies that promote appropriate recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service.  Students involved in NHS/NJHS are successful in their academic and life pursuits, and particularly in post-secondary studies.  Southland strives to recognize these students and is currently building a strong chapter with students involved in community service and leadership.

Projects

Members of the NHS/NJHS have recently taken on efforts to make Southland a little more environmentally friendly.  Members are in charge of recycling efforts across the school.  They empty recycling centers weekly and provide useful knowledge about recycling to the faculty and students.

NHS/NJHS also sponsors Red Ribbon Week.  This year's Red Ribbon Week is October 27th - 31st.  Members want to educate Southland on the dangers of using drugs and will use this week as an opportunity to do so.
