Students of the month are made by nominations from the teachers.  Students are usually nominated because they display excellent work habits, high levels of integrity, and positive character attributes.  The students include one boy and girl representative from both the elementary and secondary level. 

Staff of the Month are Southland employees that exhibit a great desire and dedication to their job.  These individuals work tirelessly with the students and coworkers at Southland ISD and their efforts are recognized through this program.
